zactrack SMART powers Marcus & Martinus’ Oslo and Stockholm concerts

For their “The Room” concerts in Oslo and Stockholm ahead of Eurovision 2026, Marcus & Martinus relied on zactrack SMART for automated followspotting, with Lighting Designer Per Marius using real-time position data to control the lighting.

Ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, Sweden’s entry Marcus & Martinus toured several European cities, including Athens, Bratislava, Madrid, and Vienna. The concerts helped build excitement around the duo and their catchy song Unforgettable in the months leading up to Eurovision.

For their concerts in Oslo and Stockholm in May 2026, the team planned to send the young artists off with a bang, booking two major venues: Unity Arena, Norway’s largest multi-purpose arena, and Avicii Arena in Stockholm.

“The Room”: Creating a New Look for Oslo and Stockholm Touring Stops

Following a previous club tour that winter, Lighting Designer Per Marius Larsen was approached in early February by the management team to join the production and further develop the show with the rest of the team for the larger arena setting.

Per Marius had worked with the artists before. “But this was before the pandemic, so since then the guys have grown up and have a different image,” he explains.

The show was developed together with Company9 / Toledo Company, working across creative production, video content, and choreography.

zactrack SMART: The Right Choice for Two Major Concerts

The need for automated followspotting for Marcus & Martinus’ Oslo and Stockholm concerts was identified early in the planning stages of the project, and Jan Martin from Superdiode recommended zactrack as the best solution for the production.

“This was the first time I used the system in this format, and it all worked really well,” says Per Marius.

For the two arena shows, zactrack SMART was used exclusively for lighting, tracking the two main artists as well as their guests with a couple of Mac Ultra Performance fixtures.

The system was supplied by SuperDiode.

From Production Design to the Final Show

The scale of the production also brought significant logistical demands. “We did two quite big shows and moved the entire production from Oslo to Stockholm with four nightliners and an unknown number of semis overnight,” recalls Jan Martin.

For Per Marius, another key aspect was developing a production design that could bring the creative vision to life on this scale while being ready for the two major arena shows in May.

“I did the production design, and the general design and setup was finished by late February, with the two biggest concerts in Oslo and Stockholm taking place in May,” he explains.

Despite the scale and tight production schedule, the experience proved a positive one. Looking back at the shows and the use of zactrack SMART, Per Marius concludes:

“I am very happy with zactrack and the result.”
