Each player wears a zactrack transponder for position tracking as well as a triggerglove to shoot from the spaceship. Simple movements of the player, to the left and right, control the spaceship. Simultaneously the player fires at the ice-invaders to free the planet. The first player to defrost the planet is the winner.

The new audience game “Formula Ice” turns the playing surface into a huge racetrack. Using simple left and right directions, the “racing drivers” move their virtual vehicles in real time and have to overcome various obstacles, for example tire stacks, oil spills or ice hockey goals.

To assist the presentation effect, Audi uses a zactrack system to automatically track the speed and position of the vehicles. The data is used to trigger a real time animation system. Ccomputer-generated 3D landscapes are rendered in real time, in correlation to the speed and position of the cars.

R-Hockey: Two voluntary members of the audience are given zactrack transponders and can then play a match of virtual ping-pong on the ice since the ping-pong bats move in harmony with the motions of the players on the ice. The dimensions are truly impressive: the area measures 60 m x 30m.

Sling-Shot: Two voluntary members of the audience are given zactrack transponders and can then collect colorful objects with their “game discs” by moving their bodies to move the discs. Whoever is faster and displays better skills, receives more points and wins the match.

Suspended above the track, a group of 900 spotlights guaranteed that the vehicles were illuminated with precision. Whether driving at 45 km/h or parked on the large presentation stage – a zactrack transponder was attached to each of the vehicles, which enabled them to be fully automatically illuminated in true show business style.
